Howto: Multiple Desktop Wallpapers

Hey,

So, one of my favorite wallpaper sites –> http://www.mandolux.com always has these great multi-monitor wallpapers. For years I’ve only been using one of them, when I could have been using two!

This is on Windows XP.

First, get your two images — say via mandolux ~~ great site, again.

Now, Right click on desktop -> Properties

Set your regular desktop to “(None)”

Click Customize Desktop

Click on the Web tab up top.

Click “New…”

Click “Browse” and find your first image.

repeat and find your second image

Make sure they’re both checked, and then say “ok”

When you say “ok” from the Display Properties, you will see 2 images on your screen.

Move the right one to the right monitor by clicking around on it till a grey bar comes up.

Once you have it to the right monitor, click the black arrow on the top of the grey box and say “cover screen”

then move the other image to the other monitor and repeat the process.

Viola!

I’ve included a screenshot so you can see how it works!

PS: if your two images don’t line up, you should put your taskbar on auto-hide. You can do this from right clicking it, unlocking it if it’s locked, and then going to properties. There is a checkbox for auto-hide. Enjoy!

My Summer Job

I have a “daily blog” of what I’ve been doing for my summer job. We’re using IDL to rewrite some Java code. IDL is pretty neat, if I do say so myself.

They sent me 2 indoor junipers with WHITE MEALYBUGS on them.

Now they’ve jumped to one of my bonsai trees, specifically the jade forest, so now I’m having to deal with these bugs.

Blah. I can’t believe they sent me plants with bugs. — “INDOOR PLANTS”

i hate this webhost - it takes 30 mins to get to the page so that I can post.

no worries though, Levi and I got a dedicated host for www.CollegeBookShuffle.com so when I move over to that, expect big changes.
