Omg. sooo good.
I will write out how I did it and with what later but for now - here is some eye candy.
Hokay, so, Here’s the way to do it:
First task, get the chicken ready.
- cut it into ~1 inch segments, I used breast meat but you’re supposed to use thigh meat. Put it in the freezer for a little bit before you cook it so it’s more firm and easier to cut.
- Now it’s time to batter the chicken, get 2 bowls big bowl and little bowl. Big bowl put in a bunch of flour[couple cups] and a little corn starch [couple tablespoons] Little bowl whisk up a few eggs[2/3/4].
- Double dip the chicken! Put it in the powder, go over to the eggs, then go back to the powder. Your hand will get messy, but only use 1 hand and you’ll have the other free to do whatever.
- Fry the chicken. Put about 1″ of oil in the wok. I use Peanut Oil because it has a high smoke temperature, meaning it won’t smoke as much as say, vegetable oi. When the chicken is light brown, turn it over. When it’s golden, take it out and put it on a paper towel to soak up the extra oil.
Now we’re ready to make the dish:
- Cut up some green onions
- Cut up some regular onions
- Mince 2 garlic cloves
- Get the jar of sauce, I used General Tso sauce from Publix
- Optional :> Chili Peppers, tear them up and keep the seeds for a hotter dish
Next, cook it all
- Put a couple tablespoons of oil [ same as we just finished using ] in the wok and get an even coating.
- Stir-fry the vegetables for 30seconds to a minute, and then dump the sauce in
- Let the sauce cook for 30seconds to a minute until it thickens a bit
- Dump the chicken in
- Be careful with the chicken because the breading is fragile
- Try to get all of the chicken evenly coated with sauce, and then you’re done!
The Broccoli is actually very easy and it tasted great too.
- Put about a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of sugar in a pot of water
- Bring to a boil and cook the broccoli for a few minutes.
Rice
- I like Mahatma Thai Jasmine rice, and I use that for everything.
Have fun with this - this was the first time I tried it, and everything worked out great!
